The Roger Freberg-Cal Poly-Saudi Arabia Connection
Local blogger Roger Freberg has been outspoken on Cal Poly’s involvement with Saudi Arabia (Keep it up, Roger!). Yesterday he made an interesting post where he says whenever he writes something about Cal Poly and Saudi Arabia, he get internet visitors from Saudi Arabia ( bloggers can easily see this in their hit logs). I do know for a fact that foreign regimes and their not-so-foreign satellite entities do keep an eye on what is said in the U.S., but this is fascinating since it’s just a personal blog in slotown.
So, I thought I would do a test to see if they are watching all blogs talking about this specific subject, or Roger’s blog in particular. I’m doing this by posting this article. SLOcomment.com is much newer than Roger’s site so getting my stories indexed in the search engines like Google is a bit sketchier, but I have found that just about everything I write is getting indexed within a couple days it seems, and when it does the search terms will direct a searcher here. Before long I’ll know if someone in Saudi Arabia is merely Googling for “cal poly, saudi arabia” or checking in on Roger specifically. Either way, it’s not a pleasant feeling.
I’ll let you know over the next couple weeks if I see anything from there.

Thanks Roger. Yup, all my idea. (’m a troublemaker!)
