City Director Bill Statler Knocks 40-year old White Guys

Yet another blow was dealt the white guy. Yup, right here in San Luis Obispo, by City Director of Finance Bill Statler. I was flipping through the new issue of New Times today (I know, but I have to so I can see what the crazies are up to) when I came across the page 4 article, “One more reason to retire on the Central Coast: subsidized golf.” Apparently, if the SLO City Council approves the plan, it will subsidize the money-losing Laguna lake Golf Course by a total of more than $1,207,000 over three years.

That’s bad enough, but here is the part that really rubbed me the wrong way, something that of course didn’t even seem to register with reporter Kylie Mendonca: According to the New Times, in defense of spending the money, Mr. Statler said, “You have to consider who the demographic is, it’s not 40-year old white guys; it’s mostly seniors and youth who are using this course. For that reason we feel very comfortable with some level of general fund support.”

Does he know that he just made a racist statement? It’s okay to spend the money because they are not spending it on 40-year old white guys? Is he channeling the not-so-Reverend Wright?

Disgusting.
